01/19/04 - LOVING WHAT I DO, DOING WHAT I LOVE - Home
Hello friends, the show in Louisville...Wow, where do I start? We haven't played a hell of a whole lot in the last few weeks and I may just be hungry for the energy of a live show, but I loved this show. The crowd fed well off the energy, I had a great monitor mix and it was over all just a good show for me. The party backstage is always in high gear, and this night was no different. Mark kept the jokes cracking in the dressing room as always. I've got to wait another two weeks til our next show, it'll be a long wait. Just setting back and waiting on my kit from Ludwig to come in, that'll be a long wait too, I'm dying to hold these puppies in my arms. Right on, rock on...dp

01/13/04 - THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM - Home
Hello friends, I've pretty much been a home body for the last few weeks enjoying a little time off. There have been a few calls for fill in jobs with other bands, but I've not been able to accept due to scheduling conflicts with the Van-Dells tour. While taking care of all the business ends of things here in my office, I decided to post while I had the energy to do so. Nothing short of rambling I guess, but I just felt inspired and the need. I'm getting more and more excited about the arrival of HAILEY ROCHELLE PARKS, my soon to be daughter. The greatest date on the calendar for the rest of my life is set for March 24th. For everyone who listened in to the Kickback Jack radio show this past weekend, thanks for your e-mail and wonderful support, the feedback was wonderful. I'm looking forward to the Kickback Jack CD release coming up this year. It's ironic being our 10 year anniversary of the band starting officially. Stay posted to this site for all information on the release, I can say that the duplication and packaging process will be underway shortly as we are awaiting the cover artwork. You can help by e-mailing Heshi51@go.com and request in your e-mail "Can you please hurry up with the Kickback Jack record cover!!!!" He, He...sorry Mike! More and more Van Halen rumors circulate everyday, and as I'm not crossing my fingers, it's like a toaster, I know it's gonna pop, I just don't know when. The Van-Dells show in Louisville, KY this coming Saturday will be a blast as I expect to see a old friend that I use to play music with years ago. I ran into him on New Years Eve again. This year is just growling and waiting to explode, I can hear it ticking. Looking forward to it...rock on...dp
01/08/04 - HERE WE GO, TWO THOUSAND AND FO!! - Home
Hello friends, once again, I'm amazed how quickly time has passed...I'm getting old I guess. I've been cutting gray hairs out of my beard, I don't understand one thing on MTV anymore, or is it the music really sucks these days? However, it does remind me of being that age so I do understand. 2003 was pretty much a blah year for me in comparison to what 2004 looks to hold. First, we have the Van-Dells projects, which I don't think I can talk about them this early, but if half of them get done, it will be one hell of a year especially for you die hard fans toward the end of the year. I have a few of my own personally projects that I would like to get underway. Oh yeah, not to mention that Vicky and I will be having a little beautiful baby girl named Hailey in March. I can't wait to see her. The rumor files have me a little bit on the excited side also as a fan. I hear that RUSH will be touring again, Tesla will be releasing their first studio record in 10 years which I've been DYING for. The long awaited Kickback Jack record should be released in 2004. I will also be switching drum gear as I've signed with two unnamed companies at this point, I will release more information at a later time. I played my DW kit that appeared on two Van-Dells video releases, one Van-Dells live CD and many studio sessions including the GSP release "In the beginning..." for the last time on New Years Eve. Hey Zack, you enjoying that kit? There's a huge rumor going round the music community about a little rock n roll band from Pasadena, CA getting back together with my favorite rock n roll singer of all time, Sammy Hagar, so I hope to see that happen along with an induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. I'm sure not all things will go my way this year, for it tis a cruel world remind you, but I'll take what comes my way on the chin and hold my head up the best I can. All in all, I hope it's a great year with the highs and lows...either way, hold the hell on cause, hereeeee we go, two thousand and FO!!...dp
